A light that is healthy for your bird doesn't really exist. The laws of physics do not allow changing electricity into natural daylight. There is no such thing as a lamp that simulates natural daylight although many manufacturers say they do. Many veterinarians will say you have to have these bulbs, because unfortunately they are taking the word of the manufacturer and continue to spread the misconception. These veterinarians are well-meaning, but they don't know it's falsehood.
This has been proven since the early 2000's and is well documented. You can find more information on full spectrum lighting from the scientific community on the internet. Read this quote from Lighting Research Center, "Full-spectrum light sources and health. Full-spectrum light sources will not provide better health than most other electric light sources."
Yes and No. "Full-spectrum" is not a technical term when applied to an electrical light bulb but rather a marketing term implying that the product emulates natural light." The EZ PetLight's color was configured to bring out the bird's feather colors with our proprietary blend of LED diodes. So in this regard, the answer is yes.
When not talking about an electrical light "full spectrum" covers all wavelengths from infrared to near-ultraviolet. There isn't an electrical light on the market that covers all wavelengths because it is physically impossible. so in this regard, the answer is no.
No. M&M choses to build products that are not only economical for the pet owner, but also safe for birds.
