We've formulated Whole Balance to make up the 70% whole grains and legumes that nearly all birds' nutrition should consist of. There is no cooking involved, and no soaking, unlike many foods on the market. It's ready to go, right out of the bag! It can be mixed with fresh veggies and fruits, mixed into your homemade chop recipe, or blended with one of our own freeze dried chop mixes, which covers the other 30% of your bird's nutrition.

Since Whole Balance is 100% grains and legumes, and there are NO preservatives or supplements added, we recommend adding a variety of veggies or especially for females, a vitamin D3 supplement (also a good idea for birds who don't spend a lot of time in the sunshine).

Awesome. That's what it is. How many of us WANT to give our bird the best possible diet but find ourselves short of time? Just like eating healthy ourselves, life gets in the way, we get it. Trust us, we definitely get it! Buuuut... now you can give your bird fresh food with the convenience of simply scooping it out the same way you would pellets or seed.

The freeze drying process is as close to feeding fresh as you can get. It preserves the freshness of the ingredients within and retains nearly 100% of nutrients. For comparison, some dehydrated food only retains around 60%. That's almost double the vitamins and minerals.

Everything inside Whole Balance is either organic, or non-GMO, depending on availability.

⏳ What is the expiration date on Bird Bites? ⏳

When packaged for long-term storage, freeze dried food can last 25 years. We currently package Bird Bites for individual use, so we recommend using within a couple of years of purchase. Once opened, we recommend using within 6 months and squeezing the air out and re-sealing the bag tightly after each use. Since freeze dried is immediately reconstituted to a fresh consistency by adding water, moisture, even humidity in the air, is the enemy of freeze dried food.
